history of birdgoods.com

birdgoods.com, once known as Birdhouses by Wheezer, has been on the net since 1996. That was when the internet was in its infancy. We started out offering many products ourselves and giving recommendations for finding everything else you need for backyard birding. However, we got out of building any products of our own and converted to just being an information source for backyard birding. Our goal was/is to make backyard birding as fun and convenient as possible. We hope to help you accomplish this while enhancing the looks of your backyard and contributing to wildlife conservation.

Please browse through our information by using our navigation menu at the top. There is plenty of reading to do of information on common birds you see in your backyard. We sincerely hope you enjoy your visit to our pages. We wish you could buy something, but, alas, it's too much trouble for too little profit for us to offer products for sale. : )
Have fun backyard birding!

We were always a very small business but we aimed to please! When we first embarked on internet sales in 1996 we called ourselves "Birdhouses by Wheezer." Our name evolved into birdgoods.com when we picked up the permanent domain in about 1999. So, we have been on the internet as birdgoods.com for 24 years! (as of 2023) Wheezer is still around, but not making those same birdhouses. He's getting a little long in the tooth now to be doing a lot of production building. Back in our hay day, construction on all items manufactured by birdgoods.com (W0101, W0102, W0103 and W0104) would begin soon after receipt of orders. Those were the primary four items we built ourselves and sold -- one cedar feeder and three different styles of birdhouses.  Completed order on all items was normally shipped not later than ten days after date of order, provided acceptable payment had been made and we were not out of stock (hopefully rare). In the circumstance that we could not ship within 10 days, the customer would be notified by email and given the opportunity to cancel the order and receive a full refund. Normally payment acceptance was immediate through use of internet credit card and shipment was within ten days. Checks had to be mailed to us, so shipment could not occur until after check was received. We had online ordering through a contracted shopping cart service when that was in its' infancy as well.

Complete installation and use instructions were included with each birdhouse.    Also we were happy to answer any questions by phone, email or letter and still are. Use our contact page and ask or comment on anything!
