Wheezer's Notes: Hummingbirds are easy to attract. Feeders are inexpensive and the liquid they like is easy to make at home. See our recipe. The Rubythroated is a common type of hummingbird widely found. The female Rudythroated, pictured at left, does not have a ruby colored throat like the male has.

Range: The range map at right indicates states in which the latest Breeding Bird Survey counted at least some areas of concentrations of 2-3 Rubythroated Hummingbirds.
Range information is from the USGS Patuxent Bird Identification Center |
